Situated on the edge of the Pennines, perfectly placed for students from either Kirklees or Calderdale, Huddersfield New College is a specialist sixth form college which caters exclusively for young people in the 16-18 age range. We offer courses at levels 1, 2 and 3, and are the only college in West Yorkshire to allow students to study a mix of both A Level and BTEC qualifications. Huddersfield New College was established in 1958. Having been judged by Ofsted as OUTSTANDING in April 2016, we are one of the most successful inclusive sixth form colleges in the country. We attract an increasing number of students each year, with over 2,400 students on roll at the beginning of the 2015-16 academic year. Our exam results in August 2015 were the best since the college became a sixth form in 1974, with a 99% pass rate for A Levels and vocational A Levels. We provide a structured and supportive environment in which young people can develop as confident and independent learners and realise their true potential.
